![]() Archaeology Detectives: Following Fossilized Footprints to Retrace Ancient Footsteps But they’ve also unearthed a trowel-full of unanswered questions about the timeworn mystery of the relationship between humans and ice age megafauna. ![]() ![]() The Jain cosmology uses a man in place of a cylinder to represent the cosmos.Archaeologists at White Sands National Park in New Mexico examining a 10,000-year-old track of human footprints, have made more fascinating discoveries. Flat earthism in India today survives strongest among the Jains. The average hindu today are globularists. The Surya Siddanta represents a departure away from the traditional cosmology represented in the link. Although some globular theory existed in India at an earlier date, Ptolemaic globularism first began to become prominent in hindu astronomy in the early middle ages in a book called the Surya Siddhanta (although still in the minority at that time). The Rig Veda and early hindu books are flat earth. The Jains believe in two suns and two moons as well as two outer rings of land (with ocean in between them) around the perimter of this middle earth. The tall cosmic mountain Mehru of the arctic north (believed by some Jains and hindus to a location in the himalayas) is common to many ancient traditions including the early Christian. The lower parts of this cylinder are comparable to levels of hell, the upper parts are comparable to heaven, and the middle is the flat earth. The upright cylinder is a traditional Jain and hindu model of the cosmos. Since I have looked into this before, I wanted to offer a comment in hope of clarification to any who may be confused by the link posted.
